A Law Firm With a Long History of Helping Car Accident Victims

Personal injury attorneys in Lafayette, Indianapolis, Carmel, Muncie, Kokomo & Anderson

We've seen over and over how confusing things can be following a car accident, truck crash or motorcycle collision. We've listened to the stories of people dealing with overwhelming medical bills and other accident-related expenses. We've spoken with people unable to work and care for their families due to a serious injury. We've cried with people mourning the loss of loved ones in fatal accidents.

Our firm was founded to fight for the injured. When you need an Indiana car accident attorney, you've come to the right place. Our attorneys have spent their entire lives working with people in these devastating situations. We understand what you're going through. We know exactly what to do about it. That's why generation after generation turns to Indiana's original personal injury law firm when it matters most.

Since our founding more than a century ago, we've been helping accident victims find answers to their questions. We've been building strong cases on their behalf that insurance companies take seriously. We've been getting settlements and verdicts that help our clients move forward.

If you were injured in a car or truck accident, our personal injury lawyers can help you recover the financial compensation you need. We can make sure your case gets the attention it deserves. We can help you demand justice.

Generations of Results

Our law firm was founded in 1913 by brothers Charles L. Vaughan and Vincent D. Vaughan. In 1957, Charles' son - Charles R. Vaughan - joined the firm. His son, Charles V. Vaughan, joined in 1985 and is now the third generation of our family to practice personal injury law. For more than 100 years, we've been helping people injured in serious accidents.

Attorney Charles V. Vaughan is certified in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. This certification is only awarded to experienced attorneys who have demonstrated skill and expertise in the courtroom and have passed a rigorous testing process. Unlike doctors, lawyers are not required to be board-certified - this is an additional credential that only a handful of attorneys hold. Attorney Vaughan chose to become board certified because we are always looking for ways to fight more effectively for our clients.

Our firm has grown over the years. Today, we have offices in Lafayette, Indianapolis, Carmel, Muncie, Kokomo and Anderson. But our commitment to high-quality service and results remains unchanged.

Our car accident lawyers stand up for you

The driver who caused your car crash may not take responsibility. The driver's insurance company may even try to pay you as little as possible - or nothing at all. Often, they do this by trying to blame you for causing your crash.

We stand by our clients and fight for their rights, no matter how much pressure insurance companies and their lawyers put on you to accept a lowball offer. Standing up for clients has been our policy from day one. We will do everything we can to demand justice for you after your car accident.

Remembering Ryan White

Our most high-profile case came in the 1980s and was featured in “The Ryan White Story,” a biographical drama released in 1989 and currently available on Netflix. Our client, Ryan White, was diagnosed with AIDS at the age of 13. Officials in Kokomo, Indiana would not allow him back in school. Ryan and his family were subject to threats and harassment. Attorneys Charles R. Vaughan and Charles V. Vaughan successfully fought a months-long legal battle to get Ryan back where he belonged – in the classroom. Our attorneys also helped change the law to protect people with HIV and AIDS from discrimination, as seen in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Chicago Tribune.

Most of our cases don’t get that kind of media attention but all our clients get that kind of support. We’re here for you when you need us most.

Our clients' needs always come first

Our law firm's motto remains unchanged: "It's all about the client." That means we never stop working to get you the best results possible. It means we care about your specific needs. We're compassionate with you yet aggressive with insurance companies.

Your case may take some time to resolve. That's because we don't settle for less. We fight for a fair settlement or verdict. Along the way, we will always keep you informed on the progress of your case. We are happy to answer any questions. We are with you every step of the way.

Many clients come to us with other legal questions long after we have resolved their cases. We're happy to help when we can. That may be one reason why so many of our new cases are referrals from former clients. They trust our attorneys enough to recommend us to friends and family members. That means a lot to us. Our reputation matters. We work hard every day to build upon our successes. We want to earn your trust. We want to be your friend for life.
